Overview
The British High Commission in Nassau is the first point of contact for UK visa guidance in The Bahamas. Bahamian nationals require a UK visa for visits, study, work, or family routes — applications are submitted through VFS Global UK Visa Application Centres. Note: consular services for British nationals in The Bahamas are provided by the British High Commission in Kingston, Jamaica, not by this office. British tourists are among the largest groups visiting The Bahamas — cruise ships dock at Prince George Wharf daily serving Paradise Island's Atlantis resort, Cable Beach hotels, and duty-free shopping on Bay Street. The Bahamas' 700 islands offer exceptional diving, fishing, and sailing for British visitors. Nassau is also a major offshore financial centre with strong UK professional services links.

Special Notes
Dean's Blue Hole in Long Island, The Bahamas, is the world's deepest known saltwater blue hole at 202 metres — a world free-diving record location. The Exumas offer some of the clearest waters in the Caribbean and swimming pigs at Big Major Cay are a unique Bahamian attraction. Hurricane season runs June–November; travel insurance covering hurricane disruption is strongly recommended.
