Overview
The Embassy of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau in Brussels serves dual roles as Guinea-Bissau's bilateral embassy in Belgium and its mission to the European Union. As one of Guinea-Bissau's key European diplomatic posts, the embassy is also accredited to Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Switzerland on a non-resident basis. Guinea-Bissau, a small West African nation with Portuguese as its official language, coordinates EU development cooperation, trade relations, and consular services for Bissau-Guinean nationals across these countries through this Brussels mission. The EU is a major development partner for Guinea-Bissau, providing support for governance, food security, and infrastructure development.
Service Area
The embassy serves Belgium directly and is accredited on a non-resident basis to Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. The Guinea-Bissau embassy in Berlin has been closed; German residents requiring consular services should contact the Brussels embassy. Visa on arrival is also available at Guinea-Bissau airports (EUR 80 for 30 days).
